Merit Ulvik

Merit Ulvik is a legal intern for the Legal Capacity Development and Freedom of Information programs. She holds a law degree from the Faculty of Law, University of Tartu and an LLM in Human Rights from Central European University.

In 2006-2007 Merit worked as a consultant and a project assistant for European Youth Centre Budapest for the Council on Europe, where she assisted in the execution of the Youth Centre’s human rights programs for the young; participated in the development team on a human rights education manual for children; helped in the editing and the compilation of a training manual on gender-based violence. In 2002 Merit assisted in compiling an application to the European Court of Human Rights.

Within the Legal Capacity Development program Merit will focus on legal aid and community empowerment clinics; and within the Freedom of Information Program she will focus on freedom of information and related research and administration. Merit conducts legal and methodological research as well as project coordination, and administrative and logistical tasks.
