A report released by the Open Society Justice Initiative looks closely at pressing needs and recent events—including the arrest of Kaing Guek Eav (alias Duch)—at the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia.

Recent Developments at the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia is the first in a series of monthly reports that will provide news and updates directly from Phnom Penh. The August report is available for download.

This 10-page report contains the latest information on the court's activities, including:

  • The co-prosecutors' Introductory Submission, identifying five suspects;
  • The arrest and detention of Kaing Guek Eav;
